A38 Carkeel Roundabout
We are currently working on phase two of the Carkeel roundabout scheme. This will see the existing roundabout improved to handle greater volumes of traffic, including the installation of signals managed by smart technology.
The construction of this scheme will be delivered in seven phases, with 'off-highway' works being carried out during daytime hours. Works that involve working on the road are carried out during night time hours, and under traffic management.
For more information on the background of this scheme please visit the Cornwall Council project webpage.

- From Monday 22 May for four nights, we shall be putting lane closures in place on the eastbound approach to the roundabout and a closure on the eastbound exit to the roundabout. This is in order to carry out surfacing and drainage works.
- From Tuesday 30 May for four nights, we will close the eastern quadrant of the roundabout to carry out drainage works through the existing roundabout.
- On Wednesday 7 June and Thursday 8 June we shall be adjusting the traffic management to reflect the new roundabout layout. During daytime working we shall be working within the traffic management layout to install some traffic islands, drainage, signage, traffic signals. Additional lane closures will be in place during the night to allow us to construct the kerbs and complete the traffic islands. Details of both day and night traffic management layout here.
