St Ives railway station car park
We anticipate the project will be complete in time for the Spring bank Holiday at the end of the month.
We are undertaking essential repairs on the face of the car park embankment, which has been showing signs of structural instability in places.
Rock anchors will be drilled in to the face of the rock to secure the failing surface to more stable layers beneath.
Although a little behind the original program, we are now in the final stages of the work. The first section of the car park will be open in time for the May Day bank holiday weekend, and our compound will reduce in size, meaning more pay and display spaces will be available.
We continue to machine drill the ground anchors in to the rock face, which will be followed by the reinforced sprayed concrete to add stability and provide support to the upper layers, protecting them against further deterioration. There are also some localised areas of corbelling required at lower levels. The fixing of wire netting, cables and metal plates completes the stabilisation process.
We anticipate the project will be complete in time for the spring bank holiday at the end of the month.
