Supporting our local communities
We are passionate about making a meaningful and positive impact on our communities, which helps us to contribute to sustainable economic growth and resilient, safe communities in Cornwall.
We do this by:
- embedding localism and community involvement;
- building capacity in the community; and
- providing local employment opportunities and skills development.
One of our key objectives is supporting local communities through employment and skills development to increase the local economy.
We are passionate about making a meaningful and positive impact on our communities. This volunteering statement will enable you to see how we can work together and how your role as a volunteer helps us to contribute to sustainable economic growth and resilient, safe communities in Cornwall.
Cormac currently has almost 100 community groups involved in various projects around the county, working on everything from large scale projects across whole towns, to tiny projects outside individual homes.
If you would like to volunteer in one of our community projects please fill out the contact form with your location and area of interest and we will link you with the nearest suitable group. If you already have a project in mind that you would like to carry out then please also fill out the contact form with as much information as you can, and we will get in contact to see what can be achieved.
You can also email firstname.lastname@example.org, with details and one of our Community Partnership Officers will be touch to discuss.
If you’re just starting out, then looking at our assessment pack will give you an understanding of the information you’ll need to provide. Again, our Community Partnership Officers can give you help and advice to complete the interactive forms.
During the course of the year we receive many requests for financial support and sponsorship from individuals and local community groups. While we would love to support the very worthwhile causes that ask for our help, unfortunately we are unable to do so. We are a company of Cornwall Council and therefore are not able to directly fund projects or individuals. Our chosen charities for this year are Last Chance Hotel and Cornwall Hospice Care and our staff regularly hold fundraising events to support these local good causes.
