A38 Carkeel Roundabout
We are currently working on phase two of the Carkeel roundabout scheme. This will see the existing roundabout improved to handle greater volumes of traffic, including the installation of signals managed by smart technology.
The construction of this scheme will be delivered in seven phases, with 'off-highway' works being carried out during daytime hours. Works that involve working on the road are carried out during night time hours, and under traffic management.
For more information on the background of this scheme please visit the Cornwall Council project webpage.

- We are currently carrying out night works using lane closures and a westbound closure from the roundabout to Latchbrook. This is required to complete the island construction, install signage and install crash barriers.
- To allow final resurfacing, the roundabout will be fully closed at night (7pm to 6am) for four weeks starting 4 September. Clearly signed diversions on all approaches will be in place to direct people through Saltash.
- On the evening of Monday 9 October, the new signals will be turned on, making the roundabout traffic-light controlled.
