A38 Carkeel Roundabout

We are currently working on the final phase of the Carkeel roundabout scheme. This will see the existing roundabout improved to handle greater volumes of traffic, including the installation of signals managed by smart technology.

For more information on the background of this scheme please visit the Cornwall Council project webpage.

  • We are wokring on the final surfacing phase. The roundabout will be fully closed at night (7pm to 6am) for four weeks starting 4 September. Clearly signed diversions on all approaches will be in place to direct people through Saltash.
  • On the evening of Monday 9 October, the new signals will be turned on, making the roundabout traffic-light controlled.
  • Towards the end of October, night-time lane closures will be in place to allow the anti-skid treatment to be laid.
