Bank Street, Newquay
We will be installing new bollards on Bank Street, Newquay from Monday 13 May. This work was originally planned for September but, unfortunately, cars have continued to park illegally on the pavement, causing inconvenience and risk to pedestrians.
The bollards will be installed in two phases. The work will start next to Café Nero and Vodaphone, this part of Bank Street will be closed for two weeks. An area of approximately 8m x 2.5m will be excavated and the electrical loops that control the bollards will be laid. Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) will install the bollards, then the block paving will be replaced. We plan to finish this section by Friday 24th May.
Bank Street will be closed for a further two weeks from Monday 3rd June, beside Costa Coffee and Superdry and we plan to complete this work by Friday 14th. Access for pedestrians will remain, but there will be no through road for vehicles at any time.
If you need to deliver goods when Bank Street is closed at one end, you can access via the opposite end of the street. There may be some noise and dust caused by the excavation, but this will be for a short time only and we’ll try to keep this to a minimum. We do appreciate your patience and understanding while we carry out this work.
