New Road wall repairs, Cawsand
Essential repairs on the retaining wall on New Road, Cawsand, will start week commencing 17 September.
The wall is showing signs of structural instability and, as it supports the carriageway, repairs are essential in order to avoid further deterioration. To allow us to repair the affected area, a section will be demolished and excavated down to the bedrock. A new wall will then be constructed.
A road closure will be necessary to allow us to undertake the work. A section from The Woodlands, for approximately 150 metres (towards Cawsand) will be closed. During this time a full diversion route will be in place.
To assist local traffic flow there will be a one way system around Hat Lane and Treninnow Plantation, to New Wiggle Farm.
Work is expected to take approximately fifteen weeks, though adverse weather conditions can have an impact on the work program. Work will be carried out during the daytime, during normal working hours. Every effort will be made to keep disturbance to a minimum.
Plymouth City Bus will have a temporary bus schedule in place during the closure. For further information, email: email@example.com or call 01752 662271.
