Bethel Crossroads Improvements

Cormac will soon begin improvements to the Bethel roundabout and junction. The current layout enables vehicles to take a straight route through the junction, crossing to the other side of the carriageway and making pedestrian movements difficult.

Commencing Monday 9 May for three weeks, the improvements will include a new central splitter island with a bollard between the double mini roundabouts, to help deter motorists from cutting across at speed. Improved crossing points will also be created, with tactile and corduroy paving, and an improved access point for the play area. The pavements will remain in use for pedestrians whilst the works are underway, and temporary four-way traffic lights will be in place. As you’ll know this is quite a busy area with a high traffic and pedestrian flow which it’s important we maintain, so during the busy school periods, the temporary traffic signals will be manually operated.

There will be a parking restriction in place for the duration of the project, and no parking will be allowed on Trenowah Road or on any approach to the existing roundabouts. Access to properties will be maintained throughout, as it will for emergency vehicles, and our working hours will primarily be between 7.30am and 5pm. Any Parking in these areas will cause further disruption to traffic flows as the traffic management will not work as intended.

Do please keep in mind that adverse weather conditions can sometimes cause delays to construction phases, but we will do our best to complete by the end of May 2022. If you have any queries or concerns, or would like to speak to someone about this, please call 0300 1234 222 or email us at
