St Martin's Road, Looe

We will be installing an upgraded drainage system on St Martin’s Road at  Looe.

Designed to prevent surface flooding and protect residents and road users in the event of heavy rainfall, work will start on 16 February 2019 and is anticipated to be complete by 13 April, though adverse weather conditions can sometimes delay work. Every effort will be made to complete the work in time for the busy Easter period.

The work takes place on a stretch of St Martin’s Road starting at the St Martin residential development at the top of the hill and ending 400 metres downhill, 250 metres north of Commonwood Manor Hotel.

The road will be closed for an eight week period and diversion signs will be in place. Free parking will be offered in Riverbank car park to help parents and carers get their children to school. They should contact the schools to register their interest and arrange for passes.

During the closure, the Plymouth Citybus (Go Cornwall) service 72, running between Plymouth, Looe and Polperro, will not be able to follow its normal route in and out of Looe.  It will divert via the A387, and will not be able to serve The Barbican area of Looe, Looe Bay Holiday Park, Tregoad or No Man’s Land.  A separate shuttlebus will provide a service to these stops, providing a connecting link to the service 72 at Widegates, as well as a service into Looe.  For more information, visit their website or email ptu@conwall.gov.uk
