Cormac win Highly Commended at the prestigious Concrete Society Awards

Cormac are delighted to have been awarded Highly Commended in the Structural Category at The Concrete Society Awards in Plymouth last week, for our Coverack Coastal Defence project. The £3.2M scheme now protects the coastline with a 57m long reinforced concrete retaining wall, in turn protected by 8000 tonnes of granite rock armour. Following the temporary works to stabilise the cliff face and the highway above, the wall was constructed in eight separate bays and was tied into the existing sea wall. Materials and plant were brought in by barge and landing craft, avoiding major disruption to the village of Coverack and it’s residents. Well done Team!
