Detailed Planning
We work with our clients in the planning stage to create the initial designs, carry out geotechnical and site investigations, write proposals, create costing build-ups, formulate budget plans, and support clients on finding funding. Our specialist teams take the lead on securing planning permissions, land acquisition and permitting. We work closely with the relevant bodies to ensure the correct permits are in place, and carry out our own environmental surveys to assess the need for habitat and species protection, waterways management and flood prevention works.

Innovative Design
Cormac’s design teams take each project from the early concept stages, incorporating all aspects of planning and budgetary requirements. Working with our in-house surveying, planning and geotechnical departments, we ensure that designs are in alignment with client needs, as well as social and environmental needs. Cormac’s experience of working alongside the local authority gives us expertise in liaising with local residents and relevant groups, such as the police and transport companies, and ensuring that all road safety requirements are met. We support our client in public consultations and have a highly effective communications department to manage the community facing aspects of design and planning.

High Quality Build
Cormac’s construction arm seamlessly moves an infrastructure project from the design and planning phase to build and successful completion. Our highly trained workforce uses the latest machinery and equipment to ensure that works are carried out as efficiently as possible, with low carbon emissions at the heart of our works. We have expertise and decades of experience in all aspects of major infrastructure projects – from road surfacing to sea defences, and from building cycleways, to installing new habitats and finding new homes for wildlife. Having a multidisciplinary approach enables us to liaise seamlessly between departments throughout construction phases, so that designs can be upgraded in response to new legislative, environmental, heritage or geotechnical considerations.

Maintenance and Upgrades
Cormac offers ongoing maintenance of all infrastructure projects. The benefit of having worked on all phases of the project means that our Highways and Environment department has background knowledge on everything from the initial designs, to the specifics of construction elements and any social and environmental issues which need to be kept in consideration.
