31 March 2025
The eagerly awaited Newquay Strategic Route connecting Newquay to the Duchy of Cornwall Nansledan Estate is set to open soon.

Lead design and build contractor Cormac delivered £11.8 Million works on this project, that will help to reduce congestion in Newquay and the surrounding road network. One of the largest civil engineering projects the area has seen, Cormac have constructed the 1k route, incorporating two road bridges, a 140m elevated causeway and high quality shared use paths for walkers and cyclists.
Reflective of commitment, hard work and successful collaboration between Cormac, the Duchy of Cornwall and Cornwall Council, this major infrastructure project showcases the range of engineering disciplines and expertise Cormac adopted, to deliver the project in the challenging conditions of the valley basin. Project Manager James Mylod said “we’re really proud of this project and the teams who delivered it. It showcases safe, sustainable and efficient design and optimises our modern methods. It’s very exciting to see it all coming to fruition.
